1. Policy Statement
Aquassi Ltd is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our employees, customers, contractors, and visitors. We aim to prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related ill health by maintaining high standards of health and safety throughout our operations.

2. Responsibilities

• Management:

  • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation

  • Provide appropriate training, equipment, and procedures

  • Regularly review and update health and safety practices

• Employees:

  • Follow all health and safety instructions

  • Report hazards, accidents, or unsafe practices immediately

  • Use equipment safely and responsibly

3. Workplace Safety

• Maintain a clean and organised work environment

• Ensure all packing and storage areas are free from hazards

• Use safe lifting and handling techniques when moving stock

• Provide personal protective equipment (PPE) where necessary

4. Fire Safety

• Fire exits must remain unobstructed

• Fire extinguishers and alarms are checked regularly

• All staff are briefed on evacuation procedures

5. Handling of Products

• Care is taken when handling live plants, rocks, driftwood, and other aquascaping materials

• Staff are trained to safely handle sharp, heavy, or delicate items

• Safe packaging procedures are followed to protect both employees and customers

6. COVID-19 / Infectious Disease Measures (if relevant)

• Follow UK public health guidance regarding hygiene, social distancing, and illness reporting

• Staff are encouraged to stay home if unwell

• Hand sanitiser is available at all workstations

7. Risk Assessments

• Regular risk assessments are conducted to identify and mitigate hazards

• Findings are documented and reviewed periodically

8. Accidents and Reporting

• All accidents, incidents, or near misses must be reported immediately

• Records of incidents are maintained and reviewed to prevent recurrence

9. Policy Review
This Health & Safety Policy will be reviewed annually or whenever there is a significant change to our operations or legislation.
